Michigan Softball Advances

On the back of senior pitcher Lorilyn Wilson, the Michigan softball team advanced yesterday to the semifinals of the regional round of the NCAA tournament.

Michigan faced Eastern Michigan in their first matchup, beating them 3-0, thanks to Wilsons one-hit shutout. Wilson was one strike away from a no-no when Jenny Scherer blooped a single to left field with two outs in the top of the seventh.

And while Wilson did the bulk of the work, Michigans offense gave her an early lead, with home runs in the second, third and fourth innings.

Check back later in the day day for more softball updates, as Michigan goes out against Louisville at 12:20 p.m. to try to advance to the final round of regional play.
